Breast Revision

Many women who undergo breast augmentation find themselves feeling satisfied with their new breasts. However, there may be some women who experience complications or an unsatisfactory appearance. While breast implants can provide an aesthetically pleasing figure, they are not meant to last forever. Breast revision surgery can restore breasts that have become distorted and address any side effects that may have developed after the initial surgery.

Reasons for Breast Revision

Your Breast Revision Surgery

Consultation

Depending on the level of correction needed, breast revision surgery can involve either replacement or removal of the breast implants. During your consultation, Dr. Aaronson will assess your concerns to determine the best technique for your needs.

Breast Implant Removal

If capsular contracture or rupture has occurred, removal of the scar tissue, implants, and the entire capsule will be required. The breast tissue will then be reshaped to improve the overall feel and appearance of the breasts.

Breast Implant Replacement

The desire to change implant size is the most common reason for breast revision surgery. If a patient desires a larger breast size, then larger implants may be a good option. If scar tissue is present, then the scar tissue may need to be removed. Smaller implants are frequently requested and can be done alone or together with breast lift surgery if required.

Testimonials

My friends who’ve been to Dr. Aaronson had very natural-looking results. I never suspected they’d had surgery until they told me!”

Concerns

Following your breast revision surgery, you will be asked to wear a surgical bra to protect your new breasts. Swelling and bruising may occur but will subside in time. You will be able to return to work one to two weeks after your procedure, and you can resume all physical activity after approximately four to six weeks.
Dr. Aaronson will be sure to place all incisions in concealable locations. If scarring does occur, it can be easily hidden with clothing and will fade over time.
The cost of breast revision surgery varies depending on certain factors, including the extent of correction, surgical fees, and anesthesia fees. Dr. Aaronson will provide you with a cost sheet during your consultation to help meet your financial and surgical needs.
You will experience some discomfort following your breast revision surgery. Dr. Aaronson will prescribe pain medication to make your recovery as comfortable as possible.
