Many women who undergo breast augmentation find themselves feeling satisfied with their new breasts. However, there may be some women who experience complications or an unsatisfactory appearance. While breast implants can provide an aesthetically pleasing figure, they are not meant to last forever. Breast revision surgery can restore breasts that have become distorted and address any side effects that may have developed after the initial surgery.
Reasons for Breast Revision
Your Breast Revision Surgery
ConsultationDepending on the level of correction needed, breast revision surgery can involve either replacement or removal of the breast implants. During your consultation, Dr. Aaronson will assess your concerns to determine the best technique for your needs.
Breast Implant RemovalIf capsular contracture or rupture has occurred, removal of the scar tissue, implants, and the entire capsule will be required. The breast tissue will then be reshaped to improve the overall feel and appearance of the breasts.
Breast Implant ReplacementThe desire to change implant size is the most common reason for breast revision surgery. If a patient desires a larger breast size, then larger implants may be a good option. If scar tissue is present, then the scar tissue may need to be removed. Smaller implants are frequently requested and can be done alone or together with breast lift surgery if required.
